If you’re following the Paleo diet, your life is about to get a whole lot easier. Here are 31 healthy, delicious, and budget-friendly recipes that you can freeze for your crockpot. Free printable recipes and grocery list below!
I’ve been researching the Paleo diet and it seems like some foods fall in a “Paleo gray area” and are considered OK by some people and not by others.
Just to be clear, the recipes below are:
- dairy-free
- grain-free
- gluten-free
- soy-free
- sugar-free
- free of processed foods (except canned tomatoes)
- absolutely delicious! (because that’s what matters most to me when cooking)
Some of the recipes contain:
- sweet potatoes
- honey
- olive oil
- apple cider vinegar
I tried to stick to a strict Paleo diet, but I wanted to make sure the recipes would taste delicious. I also wanted to include common ingredients that are available at most grocery stores. No fancy stuff here!
If you’re new to crockpot freezer meals you’re going to get hooked:
- There’s no cooking required ahead of time. Simply combine the meat, vegetables, and spices in freezer bags and freeze for up to three months.
- The meals cook for the first time out of the freezer and don’t taste like leftovers at all.
- You can save a lot of money by buying the ingredients in bulk.
I don’t follow the Paleo diet myself, but I’ve made thousands of crockpot freezer meals over the years so I know a good one when I see one. These are the best Paleo recipes that I’ve tried myself or found on the web. (I literally spent hours and hours and days searching for good ones.) Enjoy!

Some of these recipes do have cooking necessary along with the crockpot; they are not all dump and go.
Kristen, there is no cooking ahead of time!
Well, that’s kind of misleading because who would cook something, only to freeze it and then cook it again? So “no cooking ahead of time,” would lead you to believe that we won’t need to prepare anything before we can dump all of the ingredients into the crock pot. Sorry, I have to agree with Kristen. 🙂
Angelica, I apologize. You and Kristin are correct. Some of the recipes from other blogs do require cooking ahead of time. The New Leaf Wellness recipes are “dump & go”. Let me know if you would like me to brainstorm ways of making the other recipes that way as well. Sorry about that!
Hi Jill, I came here to say “Chopping doesn’t count as cooking!” but the Hearty Hungarian Beef Stew requires searing the beef first, and the chicken tortilla soup requires sautéing the veggies before putting in the crock. I haven’t looked at all the recipes, but of the few that I did, those had cooking ahead of time 🙁
If you look at the printable pdf you will see all of the recipes adapted for no cooking ahead of time.
I put together the Beef or Turkey Chili – I just put all the ingredients into the freezer bag. But now I question whether the ground turkey should be cooked first. Was I correct not to cook it first? I am worried about that.
Raw is fine!
How big is your family? Are all of your meals meant for a certain number of people? Also I think you are amazing for having done all of this and blessed your family with your creativity and frugality! You go girl 😉
Hi Jill, this is Jill…we have a family of 4. Kelly has a family of 6! Most of our meals will feed six adults, so for those of us with littles, there are usually leftovers. Thank you for the compliment. 🙂
Yes, good question. I’m just one person. Scalable?

Thisay be a super stupid question….But do I need to brown the ground beef beforehand? Or do you put it on the bags raw? Obviously I’ve never made freezer meals with beef before. 😉
Aimee, there are no stupid questions! You can put the ground meat right in the bag raw!!
Yay! Thanks!
